How metering works

One classification is one unit, whether it arrives through /api/classify, as an item inside a batch call, or as part of an automatic re-check when the ruleset changes. Pro includes 2,000 units a month; above that, usage is metered at $0.02 a unit and never blocked — a hard stop in the middle of a catalogue import is worse for you than an overage line is.

The free tier is one classification per rolling day, rate limited, with no account required. It is a real classification, not a preview: the same engine, the same ruleset hash, the same citations.
